ORGANIZATION’S PROFILE AND ACTIVITIES
The MMCC was founded in the 1980s by a group of Hungarians living in North Texas and registered as a non-profit organization in 2002. The purpose of the organization is the preservation and promotion of the Hungarian language, culture and traditions in the North Texas area.
The MMCC maintains close relationship with Our Lady of Dallas Cistercian Abbey where monthly Hungarian services are being held by the Hungarian priests, and where the MMCC holds the Hungarian National holiday commemorations.
The MMCC also maintains very close ties with the Fort Worth Sister Cities International and its Budapest Committee. Fort Worth has been a sister city of Budapest since 1990.
The MMCC also offer free Hungarian language classes to children and adults during the summer months and sponsors interns from Hungary who assist with folkdance classes and folk tradition presentations.
